Heart in Hand Teachers
Many hands for little hearts
HeyZeus Oak
Heart in Hand Owner and Head Teacher
I come from a place where rivers converge in whispered conversation, where springtime lingers like a guest reluctant to leave, and where mountains stand tall, casting their watchful gaze. This breathtaking backdrop inspired my passion for guiding children to discover the beauty of the world around them.
My educational journey includes specialized training in Early Childhood Waldorf education from Sound Circle Center, a bachelor’s degree in Art Practices, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy, with a focus on Gender, Race, and Nations & Sustainability Education. This background allows me to create an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
After years of teaching in Waldorf schools, I realized that homes provide a safer, more comfortable environment for preschool-aged children. This insight drives my commitment to creating a warm home atmosphere where young children can thrive.
As the owner of Heart in Hand Preschool, I am committed to creating a nurturing environment where children can explore, imagine, and grow. I focus on cultivating a sense of wonder and curiosity through hands-on activities, storytelling, and creative play. My goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning in every child.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy sharing music with my two children, exploring nature, and cycling through our vibrant town. These moments of connection and discovery enrich my personal life and inform my teaching practice. It is a privilege to support each child’s unique journey of growth and discovery.

Heart in Hand Lead teacher
Learning through play, art, and nature was such a huge part of my school years when I was young, and I continually have gratitude for my mothers choice to send me to a school that valued such, as it shaped who I am in such a prominent way. My desire for this school year is to incorporate those values I grew up with; contact with nature, kindness, imagination, & play, in with those activities I’ve come to treasure as an adult ~ yoga, gardening, crafting, cooking, movement, and connection with plants & animals. I feel very in alignment with Waldorf philosophy, and look forward to deepening my understanding and continuing my education even more through readings & trainings this coming year!

Heart in Hand Aftercare teacher
My teaching style prioritizes wonder, imagination, warmth, and kindness. I have a deep love for the natural world, song, and story. I worked at Cedarwood Waldorf School as their lead extended day teacher, and it was a fulfilling opportunity to craft a rhythm for such a tender time of day. My work as an early childhood educator began in a cozy in-home preschool, and I am delighted to return to that supportive learning environment at Heart in Hand. Nurturing and teaching young children is my vocation, and I am grateful to bring my love and reverence for this work to the Heart in Hand community.
“The healthy social life is found, when in the mirror of each human soul, the whole community finds its reflection. And when, in the community, the virtue of each on is living”
— Rudolf Steiner, founder of Waldorf Education
