A Home for Heart in Hand

For many years, this little blue house has been more than a building. It has been a place where childhood could unfold gently: where friendships deepen beneath the trees, gardens are tended by small hands, and rhythms of care and belonging quietly take root.

As many in our community know, the future of this home has recently become uncertain. In response, families, alumni, and friends of Heart in Hand have begun gathering around a shared hope: that this special place might continue to serve children for years to come.

Again and again, families have spoken of what this place offers: warmth, steadiness, beauty, and a sense of belonging that is increasingly difficult to find. Some have called it a sanctuary for childhood. Others have spoken of preserving not only a school, but a place where children are truly known.

A community-led effort is now unfolding to explore what may be possible. Whether you are a current family, alumni parent, neighbor, donor, or someone simply moved by the importance of protecting spaces for childhood, we are grateful for your interest in Heart in Hand, our little school in a big world.
